Music nights are the main focus of this café, but there are a few other kinds of evening thrown in for good measure. On Monday 3rd November there’s a poetry slam event called Hammer & Tongue, so if you fancy getting up and spouting some poems, or simply watching other people be brave… They serve tasty, reasonably-priced, vegetarian tapas.

the antic banquet

The Antic Banquet festival was held over a sunny weekend back in September on an organic beef farm in Norfolk. Imagine possibly the largest organic burgers ever, served in pitta bread crammed with salad and sauce; sweets and apples served by a horned creature from a Hansel & Gretel house; knives and forks hanging from the trees; bouncy bands and djs; cartwheeling zebras; maypole dancing; craft workshops; hula-hooping; poetry; puppet shows; an impromptu surprise birthday party in a pig pen (clean and empty of pigs!) and a magical violin concert in the church up the road, and that goes some way to describing this small festival.
